Bobo

Native to Sweden, the Manchester based artist Bobo has set out to free himself from the terrestrial bonds of earth and explore the ephemeral sounds of the outer atmosphere.

Leaning into this stylistic predisposition, Contact takes characteristic elements from the worlds of dubstep, ambient, breaks, electro and techno to create bold, cinematic textures and otherworldly imagery.

With previous releases on Gestalt Records, Gunfinger Food, Eluize’s Night Tide and Further Electronix - alongside his own Bars of Beats and PSU projects - we’re super delighted to now officially welcome him to the Erbium family!

Eclectic, electronic music producers EIF have been working out of Birmingham UK for the last decade. In recent years they have had huge successes, as their sought after producing style has captured the hearts and ears of some of the city’s most renowned musicians.

HALT. are Craig Earp and Nathan Shwalbe. An electronic music duo from Birmingham UK, formed in the winter of 2019. As lifelong friends and collaborators - influenced by styles of Ambient, Drone, 1990’s IDM, Techno, and Soundtrack music - their productions radiate with emotion and natural chemistry.

Throughout their music, themes of nostalgia, dream states, and the occult are prominent, often rooted in highly textured and atmospheric environments. A sound motivated by the industrial landscapes of their Brutalist home city and inspired by the likes of Autechre, BOC, Morricone & Abul Mogard etc.

Another sonic experiment for your listening curiosity, Ab Und Zu drifts the liminal void between brain stimulating atmospherics and club-centric resonance. Take a kaleidoscopic trip through the off-kilter, composite sounds of London-born label newcomer Midnight Manoeuvres.

Titular track Ab Und Zu combines metallic SFX, gyrating melodies and some choice vocal cuts in a psych-tinged techno merger, while Moored strips the tempo back to chuggier pastures reminiscent of early tinkerings in trip hop and breakbeat. Then rounding out the original set, Spincycle brings a darkly satisfying arrangement of aqueous textures and hardened drones - the Autechre-esque flourish to your tumble down the rabbit hole.

Stepping through on the re-fix, Control Freak’s Customer Service offers an accelerated, dubbed out and glitched up interpretation of Ab Und Zu, complete with arpeggios and wobbles dialled up to max.

The final track of the EP - and a Bandcamp exclusive - reimagines Brownstone’s iconic R&B anthem If You Love Me, introducing jaunty drum work and weighted bass to the track's soulful, heartfelt lyrics; a move inspired by the genre-bending label and club night Autonomic, founded by dBridge and Instra:mental.

Ab Und Zu

Introducing London-based producer An Avrin to the Erbium roster; a sludged down detour from his more familiar high-octane productions, packaged together in a mind melting 5-track EP.

Inspired by early explorations beyond Earth's atmosphere, the Laika EP deconstructs the downtempo regions of the electronic spectrum, utilising space, bass and cosmic FXs to create heavy yet transcendental energies.

Rounding off the release, Nova Cheq steps in with a remix to appease those looking for that speedy fix, a relentless and unfurling number reminiscent of techno's primordial era.

Laika

D-Nite is a Belgian producer and dj who co-runs ‘Les Flâneurs’ collective in his hometown of Liège. As a producer or behind the deck, he tries to amalgamate different musical inspirations and sonic influences exploring peak-time Breaks, subtle and sprawling Techno, futuristic Bass expansions and strands of transcendantal DnB to form a cohesive hybrid creation and bring dynamic dj sets.

D-Nite

A deftly sculpted, intergalactic excursion through the mind of Belgium's D-Nite, presented here in a thorough, tightly produced 5 track EP.

Amalgamating sonic influences from across space-time to form a cohesive hybrid creation; exploring strands of transcendental DnB, peak-time Breaks, subtle and sprawling Techno, and futuristic Bass expansions.

Reactions Vol. 2 marks a swirling palette of creativity, expanding into a versatile 12-tracker featuring artists from various musical backgrounds. An exploration of sound that uncovers the many colourful states of matter within the electronic spectrum.

From trance-inducing Ambience, introspective Electro feels, and nostalgic Rave fantasies, to broken Techno mind benders, uptempo Acid workouts, and drum-centric Leftfield sounds, each track stands as a reflection of their creator while coherently tapping into the ebb & flow of the overarching VA experience.

Sublight Communications

The final flourish of a personal project that’s been years in the making. Chairmaker’s Three Songs for Winter reaches a bold conclusion, conjuring guitars that dance, voices who whisper, and drums that march out from the misted veil.  
With each prior EP tapping into the aesthetics and emotions of their respective seasons: Spring, Summer and Autumn. Three Songs for Winter describes the darkest, and most volatile season for many, yet also one steeped in ancient folklore and ethereal majesty.

From the stormy ascent out of droning melancholia on The Fall; to the crisp coldness and shrouded incantations of The Waves; and on to the fuzzy decay and coalescing melodies of The End. All have been influenced by a love of psychedelia and prog-rock genres, while also drawing on trip-hop percussion and FX beats more typically found in leftfield club sounds.

Although bound by the narrative thread of Winter, each track stands alone with a distinct tale to tell. The listener invited to imagine their own place in the great tidal workings of our world, and the realities that might exist beyond it.

The project first emerged out of electric guitar sketches made in an opiated state - the fallout of an unfortunate Summertime accident - where a room in which to recover quickly became a DIY music studio. The result is a measured, immersive experience. A record that’s had time and perspective to expand organically. A cauldron of sketches and live jams moulded through arpeggiated percussion, hours of DAW processing, and a mind that’s had the space to wander/wonder.

As photons of dying light fracture through the cracks, only dust, and decaying monuments endure to marvel at the star’s dwindling life force. The looming eternal silence meets resistance at the orchestral hum of phantom-like activity; whispering currents, droning gyros, and flickering neon screens the last remaining remnants of a civilisation long forgotten.

Erbium is silvery-white, metallic, and malleable. A delicate substance tarnished by air, eroded by water, dissolved by acid. But in atomic imperfection new states emerge - a sound remoulded and reimagined for curious ears.

From raw, dance-floor focussed energies to deep soundscapes of the void. We are not just a music platform but an open, creative, and collaborative community too. Substances found on Earth, broadcast to the macrocosm.
